Behavioural change takes time to occur. Our patterns of behaviour are well embedded and sometimes invisible to us. Revealing their structures and potential for better outcomes takes commitment, effort and time.
We recommend a minimum of six months for a coaching or mentoring programme, and we tailor the content and sessions to meet the client's needs and context.
There are broadly ten stages to such a programme, from the initial ‘chemistry meeting’ for the foundation of the coaching relationship (a key cornerstone for positive outcomes), through the different stages of awareness raising, developmental goal setting, feedback, practicing new behaviours, reviewing and refreshing goals, through to completion. Examples of client need and context include times of major change; a significant promotion; elevation to Board or CEO level; times of intense pressure; needing to improve working relationships; times of career setbacks; wishing to develop and strengthen leadership skills.
