As CEO of ESB, one of Ireland’s largest companies, Pat led an organization of 8,500 people successfully through transformational change, with a deep passion for EBS’s success and its purpose for customers and society.

An engineer with a leadership career spanning more than 25 years, Pat has held a wide range of roles in engineering, project management, operations, customer service and organisational change in complex stakeholder environments.

Appreciating that executive leadership operates in a lonely and personally demanding space, Pat knows the benefits of good coaching and mentoring. He brings a warm and generous approach to his work and is continuously curious to find ways to help leaders and organisations thrive. Pat’s focus is on creating a safe space for his clients to support them in discovering their resources within. His uses collaborative and reflective inquiry to help generate new insights, while considering the wider systems of stakeholders and environment.

Pat holds a number of non-executive chair and director roles in the private and voluntary/charity sectors. He is also Chair of the National Apprenticeship Alliance, an advisory body supporting Government’s expansion of the Irish apprenticeship system.
